Selama seminggu tidak bisa berinternetan karena kesibukan yang sangat menyita waktu, akhirnya terluangkan juga waktu akhir minggu ini dengan memeriksa email, blog dan RSS feeds yang biasa penulis baca. Sebenarnya update pagerank sudah sering penulis lalui cuma syukur alhamdulillah, pada update kali ini beberapa blog mendapat kenaikan pagerank seperti blog www.yusaindera.com dari PR 3 menjadi PR 4, www.netonlinesite.com dari PR 2 menjadi PR 3, www.download-ebook.co.cc tetap PR 2, www.bestlaptopcomputer.info dari PR 0 menjadi PR 2, dan www.biz4net.co.cc dari PR 1 menjadi PR 2. Mudah-mudahan pada update pagerank kali ini memang benar bukan hanya bersifat sementara namun sudah last update.

Kejutan lainnya di inbox penulis adalah adanya tawaran jobs pertama dari www.sponsoredtweets.com yang merupakan alat monetisasi twitter yang katanya cukup menghasilkan juga walau belum sempat merasakan withdrawal paypalnya. Pada postingan kedepan akan dibahas mengenai tawaran job ini.

Akses internet pakai linux ternyata lebih cepat

Beberapa minggu yang lalu penulis mengikuti pelatihan Open Source Software (OSS) 2009 yang diselenggarakan dalam rangkaian kegiatan Kementrian Riset dan Teknologi, POSS/IGOS center, dan komunitas Linux di beberapa kota di Indonesia tahun 2009. Sebenarnya, penulis pernah mengikuti beberapa kali pelatihan linux juga, tiap pelatihan memakai distro yang berbeda-beda seperti SUSE, Blankon, Redhat, dan terakhir ini Ubuntu dan Nusantara 3 (Mahakam). Namun, ada yang berkesan pada pelatihan kali ini yaitu penulis sempat menginstalasi Linux Ubuntu Jaunty Jackalope 9.04 di laptop tanpa harus menghapus instalasi windows. Jika dulu tidak bisa instalasi karena harus menghapus windows, dengan adanya program wubi di Ubuntu linux Jaunty Jackalope, akhirnya laptop bisa terinstall 2 platform OS yaitu Windows dan Linux.

Dari beberapa pemberitaan terakhir, media memang sedang hangat-hangatnya memberitakan release windows dan Linux terbaru. Untuk windows pemberitaan media tertuju ke Release Windows 7 yang katanya lebih populer dari pemutaran perdana Harry Porter. Dan untuk komunitas Linux, secara bersamaan Linux juga meluncurkan Linux Karmic Koala yang merupakan upgrade unbuntu 9.04 menjadi 9.10 yang dilansir berbagai media proses bootingnya sangat cepat dan platformnya sangat handal.

Sampai saat ini, penulis belum sempat upgrade ke windows 7 berhubung belum sempat ugrade. Namun, ada yang menarik ketika mengetes koneksi internet indosatm2 saat ini dengan dengan windows vista dan linux ubuntu. Ternyata kecepatan akses internet di linux lebih cepat dari windows.





Dari gambar ini penulis memperoleh statistik saat pengetesan jam 9.00 WIB kecepatan download indosatm2 di windows sekitar 58-61 kbps sedangkan di linux 125-154 kbps jauh sangat cepat di linux. Sedangkan untuk kecepatan upload relatif sama yaitu sekitar 31-44 kbps baik untuk windows dan linux.

Ada info yang cukup menarik bagi para pemburu dollar internet. Selain beberapa broker jualan link seperti TLA, dan linkworth, secara tidak sengaja blog ini mendapatkan job pertama lain dari broker yang bernama adhocads.com. Untuk sementara rencana untuk menaikkan harga link di linkworth terpaksa ditunda karena kebetulan advertisernya pun itu-itu saja. Belum ada tawaran lain.
