HTML 5 Canvas for Dummies - Free Sample Chapter

A Quick Glimpse Behind the Canvas

Developers of the Canvas standard could have named their new creation anything they wanted. They could have called it an area, pad, space, or any number of other possibilities. They chose Canvas, with its obvious artistic implications. There is significant technical detail behind the implementation of Canvas, but at its core, the intent is to provide a new way to satisfy the urge for expression not so different from that behind prehistoric drawings on cave walls.

HTML5 Canvas is a digital version of the surfaces that have teased the imagination of mankind for thousands of years. Adding the power of computing to traditional media concepts creates an amazing combination. No need to imagine horses galloping or geese flying. Now they can move.

In this chapter, you get a first look at how HTML5 Canvas works and how to create your own compelling Canvas applications. You get a glimpse behind the Canvas to see what makes it tick.

Get started with HTML5 !

You've heard of it : HTML 5. Everybody is using it. It's being heralded as the savior of the internet, allowing people to create rich, engaging web pages without to using Flash and Shockwave. But what actually is it?

Well, that's not an easy question to answer. HTML 5 is used to describe a really diverse group of things. It's a standard of writing web pages. It's a collections of APIs. It's a new way of adding interactivity to web pages. HTML is all that and more. So what's this book about? I'am going to assume that you at some point have touched on HTML and CSS. Perhaps, you've created your own wordpress theme, or edited a Myspace layout back in the day. Perhaps you've read MakeUseOf's very own XHTML guide.

The point is, I'm assuming that you know your way around a web page dan that we discuss in this guide won't be too alien to you. The aim of this guide is not to reach you the entirely of HTML 5. That would be entirely out of the scope of this book. The aim is to provide a gentle introduction to these amazing new web technologies, and to show you some cool ways of incorporating them into your websites.

Windows 8 Application Development with HTML5 For Dummies - Free Sample Chapters

Welcome to a new world of Windows. A lot has changed since Windows 3.1 gained general popularity in 1991, both in terms of devices available to host an operating system and the bandwidth necessary to connect them. Sometimes Microsoft has blazed a trail, sometimes they have fallen behind, but Windows has always managed to more or less stay abreast of the world of computing. Tablets are a story of both greatness and woe.

Windows XP was tablet-ready, but the hardware world wasn’t. We ended up with five-pound tablets that had a three-hour battery life and required a stylus. Apple and Google surged ahead as soon as the hardware was truly ready for the form factor. Microsoft has an ace in the hole, though. Windows is present on 250,000,000 devices worldwide, and some of them are even legally licensed. Windows runs the majority of businesses on the planet. It is everywhere.

The ultimate HTML Reference - Free Sample Chapter

Once upon a time, in the dim, distant past, the Web was little more than a bunch of boring academic documents that were exciting to the handful of scientists and physicists who were technically capable of putting such documents together and able to configure a cranky old dial-up modem. Then along came the img (p. 331) element, and the Web started its transformation into the form we know and love today.

Yes, that’s a slight oversimplification of how we got from A to B, but in all seriousness, until the elements detailed in this section were included in the W3C specs, and then in web browsers (or sometimes the other way around), the Web didn’t have much to offer in the way of eye candy.

Smashing HTML 5 - Free sample chapter

THIS CHAPTER IS a general overview of what’s new, what’s the same and what’s been removed from HTML that makes HTML5. At this time, one of the most important tasks is to fi nd out which browsers work with HTML5, which ones are in development that promise HTML5 compatibility and how each has started to implement HTML5. Also, you’ll want to learn about some of the new browsers that are specifi - cally developed for mobile devices, so you can test HTML5 pages on your mobile device, too. To get started, download all the HTML5 browsers (covered in this chapter) so that you can learn what users will see when they encounter an HTML5 Web page that you’ve created.

Jump Start HTML5

HTML (HyperText Markup Language) is the predominant language of web pages. Whenever you read or interact with a page in your browser, chances are it’s an HTML document. Originally developed as a way to describe and share scientific papers, HTML is now used to mark up all sorts of documents and create visual interfaces for browser-based software.

With HTML5, however, HTML has become as much an of API (Application Processing Interface) for developing browser-based software as it is a markup language. In this book, we’ll talk about the history of HTML and HTML5 and explore some of its new features.

HTML5 also improves existing elements. With its new input types, we can create rich form controls without the need for a JavaScript library. For example, if you want a slider input control, you can use <input type=range>. Input types such as email and url add client-side validation to the mix. New audio and video elements let us embed audio and video media directly in our documents. Both elements also have scripting interfaces that we can use to create custom media players or clever visual effects. And we can do this without the need for a plugin in supporting browsers.

PHP, MySQL, JavaScript & HTML5 All in One For Dummies (Free Sample)

As we explain programming for the web to you, it’s helpful for all of us to speak the same language, at least when it comes to the subject at hand. Knowing how the web works, at least at a high level, will pay dividends when you start creating sites that will work on it. Granted, you don’t need to know how a car works before driving, but knowing how the steering wheel, throttle, and brakes all relate to make the vehicle move is especially important to keep you from hitting things. So consider what you’re about to read as driver’s education for web programming. The difference is that at the end you don’t have to buy insurance!

HTML5 iPhone Web Application Development

Web applications have come a long way since the 90s, where static HTML pages were delivered to the client. In those days, web pages had a strict client-server model, where much of the processing was done on the server and the client only presented the information with little to no interaction. Such information was only accessible through desktop computers on very slow networks.

Those days have passed, and we are now connected in ways that were impossible before. From cellphones that can still make calls on the subway, to tablets presenting the latest article from your favorite newspaper 30,000 feet in the air; we are now in a digital age where information is easily accessible through innovative technologies. Yet, we still struggle to create a seamless interaction between technology and the physical world.

Contoh css tag class :

.body {
text-align:center;
min-width:1000px;
}

Maka tag class :

<div class="body"></div>

Contoh css tag id :

#wrapper {
margin:0 auto;
text-align:left;
}

Maka tag id :

<div id="wrapper"></div>

Perbedaan tag ID dan class

a. Tag ID adalah unik setiap elemen hanya mempunyai satu tag id.

<li id="comment-27299" class="item">
